Sylvia A. Cuvelier

Sylvia A. Cuvelier, 64, passed away peacefully August 2, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Clearwater, Florida to Ed Cuvelier, Sr and Lynda Underwood, she resided in the Akron, Ohio area nearly all of her life.

Sylvia enjoyed bowling, bocce ball, crafting, bird watching, the Underwood family 4th of July picnics, attending her great nephews' basketball games and ATV races, participating in Special Olympics and URR events, working at Portage Industries and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her step-father, Donald Underwood. She will be sadly missed by her siblings, James Cuvelier, Sheri (Ricky) Layton, Eddie (Brenda) Cuvelier; nieces, Shawnna (James) Withrow, Ophelia Lopez, Amanda Cuvelier, Crystal (Nate) Cain; nephews, James "JJ" (Nikki) Cuvelier, Justin Cuvelier, EJ (Silvia) Layton; many great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Community Life Church, 106 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore. The funeral service will take place Friday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics Ohio, Portage County, 2500 Brady Lake Rd., Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
