Stirley Green, met his Lord face to face March 4th, 2014. He was born 77 years ago near Jamestown, Tennessee to the late Fate and Edna Green. He was always proud of his hard working and humble upbringing shared with his nine siblings. After a four year stint in the U.S Navy, Stirley joined a few brothers and a sister in Akron to take advantage of the booming rubber industry. He enjoyed his many years working for Goodyear. In Akron, he built the family and life he loved.
Stirley loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, along with his many friends from church. He had a passion and a knack for gardening and loved to laugh (particularly, at his own jokes.) Stirley worked hard and challenged those around him to try to keep up. He loved to eat and never met a buffet he didn't like.
Stirley will be truly missed. He is survived by his children, Scott (Deanna) Green, Stacey (Tony) Battle, and Mark (Jennifer) Green; grandchildren, Logan, Nick, Abby and Camren; sisters, Nellie Dillon and Janetta Cascioli; brothers, David and Randal Green. Special thanks to Jean Taylor for the years of friendship and good meals and to Dr's Bentley and Patel, and their staffs, for the kindness and care.
