Sterling Weese Jr., 83, surrounded by his loving family, passed away on December 19, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1942 the son of the late Sterling Weese Sr. and Norma McClellan. He and his brother Cliff were raised by his grandmother, Mabel Weese. He was a man of great faith and was a member of the Akron Chapel. Sterling proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had a profound love for the great outdoors, often spending time hunting in the woods, where he felt most at home surrounded by nature. His adventurous spirit was coupled with a deep appreciation for the art of woodworking, which showcased his creativity and skilled hands. Sterling enjoyed playing pool with his best friend, making many memories of laughter and friendship. He took great pride in caring for his yard, cultivating a space that reflected his love for nature and his commitment to creating beauty in everyday life. Sterling will always be remembered for his humor, laughter, and the love of family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandma Mabel Weese; son Greg Weese; and sibling Clifford (Imajean) Weese.
Sterling is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shelby Weese; daughter Pamela (Thomas) Terrill; grandchildren Jack Terrill and Maeve Terrill; and many other relatives and friends.
Per Sterling's wishes cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
