Stephen W. Evans

Stephen W. "Stubs" Evans, 73, of Suffield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025 from the West Nile Virus/Encephalitis with his wife Lori at his side. He was born on April 17, 1952 the son of Walter and Charlotte Evans of Ravenna, Ohio. He was the second of eight children. In his youth he wanted to be a farmer but chose a different path and became a mason, owning his own company in 1999. He was a carefree soul and loved his family and friends. He also loved hunting, fishing, Budweiser and trips to Happy Holler. He worked hard and played hard and lived a good life his way. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Evans; and siblings Ken Evans, Linda Evans and Jane Kober.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lori Evans; son Adam Evans; grandson Ryder Evans; step sons John (Jodie) Tompkins Jr., Shaun (Missy) Tompkins; grandchildren Zarin, Lily, Ari, Julie, Colt, Caileb, Savannah, Bella, Rachael, Christine, Catherine, Aubrey, Madison, and Morgan; great-grandchildren Cyrus, Zarabella, Lilah, Greyson, and Annison; mother Charlotte Evans; siblings Diane Lott, Dan (Debbie) Evans, Dave (Mandy) Evans, and Carol (Terry) Evans-Ilg; his constant companion his dog Ziggy”Butthead”; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm., Sunday, September 7th at "The Event" at Sunny Hills Golf Course (3734 Sunnybrook Rd., Kent 44240) with Tom Livigni officiating and the Wake will follow immediately at the same location.
