Sidney K. Pouncey

Sidney K. Pouncey, 97, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2026. Born in Alabama to Frank and Cervera (Smith) Pouncey, he grew up in Lakemore, Ohio and later moved to Barberton, Ohio. Sid was a proud U. S. Navy Veteran and retired from both Goodyear Aerospace and Lockheed-Martin. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Sid enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Sid was preceded in death by his wife, June; siblings, Leon Pouncey, Frank Pouncey Jr, Faye East. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Jamie Pouncey, Joel (Barbara) Pouncey; grandchildren, Jordan, Bannon, Jeremy, Kyle, Barbara "BJ"; great granddaughter, Adolynn; siblings, Wayne (Ruth) Pouncey, Mary "Pat" Gerard; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, August 24, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Sid will be laid to rest privately at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
