Shirley J. Shorder

Shirley J. Shorder, age 76, of Akron, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Hospice Care at Summa Barberton Hospital. She was born in Akron to her parents, Helen and Earl Haas.
Shirley was a homemaker, wonderful wife, and mother. She enjoyed dancing, country music, and people. She loved being with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her son, Robert Evans Jr. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Terry J. Shorder and daughter, Sammi Shorder, both of Akron; stepchildren, Mark Shorder of Akron, Angela Shorder of Mogadore, Lisa Davis of Indiana, and Terryl Shorder of Norton; and sisters, Clara Jobes of Rootstown and Nancy Pringle of Silver Lake; five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a procession to Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Center at Summa Barberton Hospital.
