Sherry J. Porreco
Sherry J. Porreco, 82, passed away December 6, 2014. She was born in Akron, Ohio on July 8, 1932 to the late Clifton and Eva Kennedy. She retired from Akron City Hospital after over 25 years of service. While living in Akron, she was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church and was committed to the Pro Life movement. Sherry loved animals and supported PETA and the ASPCA. She devoted her life to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Porreco. She is survived by her children, Vicki (Robert) Richardson, Frank (Debbie) Porreco, Theresa Rich, Peter (Beth) Porreco, and Joseph Porreco; sister, Donna Fish;eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Father Joseph Warner officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
