Sharon A. Buckus

Sharon Buckus (nee McCullough), 68, passed away June 5, 2026.

Sharon was born November 13, 1957 in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert and Margerie McCullough (nee Hunt). She graduated from Ellet High School in 1976 and earned her RN from the Akron City Hospitals Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing in 1978. She worked with the elderly and those with dementia, until her own health issues forced her to early retirement after 38 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Robert "Butch"McCullough. She is survived by children, Stephen Robert (Amy) and Bryan Todd (Chloe) and her grand-puppies and grand-kitties.

Sharon always prioritized family and spending time together. She was the score keeper and un-official nurse for their baseball teams and loved their family vacations to Myrtle Beach. She was an avid crafter and artist making hand made gifts for those she loved. Sharon was also a huge lover of animals especially her cats and birds.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to One of a Kind Pets in her name. Per Sharon’s final wishes, there will be no funeral service. She asked that you remember her when you see a sunrise or sunset over a beautiful beach with your toes in the sand.
