Scott Thomas Taylor joined his parents in Heaven on March 18, 2026. Scott was born on January 21, 1961 to Donald and Kathleen "Kiti" (Wiencek) Taylor. He spent most of his childhood in Lakewood, Ohio, before his family moved from the city to the rural town of Richfield.
Scott had the vision of an artist and the soul of a poet. He was a huge music fan, being gifted as a multi-instrumentalist himself, but had a true passion was playing guitar. He loved art in all its forms and supported many local artists, bands and venues. He was especially fond of original music and poetry.
Scott adored the outdoors and could usually be found hiking the park trails with his children, grandchildren, many friends or strolling the woods alone. He found solace in the music of the earth, the wind in the trees, the birds singing or the sound of a nearby stream.
Preceding him to Heaven are his parents and brother Christopher, he leaves to cherish his brother, Paul (Lori), and sister Christina, children, Meriah (David), Adrian (Siang), Renee (Zeke), Curtis, and Corinne, Brandy (Rob), Angela (Andy), Hanah (Alex), and Savana. He also leaves his grandchildren, Karder, Dawson, Laiken, Yeyint, Simon, Nolan, Layne and Matthew, his nephew Ryan, and many other cousins, family, and friends. His former wife Michelle, friend of 45 years, and Meriah's mother, Lorie, as well as his friend, Whitney and his loving cat, Stink Bug.
Scott's kind spirit, unwavering support for the arts, and profound connection to nature touched countless lives. He cultivated a wide network of friends and extended family, all of whom will deeply miss his presence, his wisdom, and his unique perspective. He would want us all to honor his memory by continuing to support local music and art, just as he dedicated his lifetime to doing.
In tribute to his passions, we encourage exploring the original sounds of "Time Cat," his favorite local band in Akron amongst many more. For those wishing to honor Scott's memory through a charitable contribution, please consider supporting local music initiatives and summit metro parks Hiking Spree Fund - Summit Metro Parks Foundation.
