Scott R. Spencer

Scott R. Spencer, age 71, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on October 4, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1955, in Canton, Ohio to the late Katherine and Jack Spencer.

Scott will be remembered as a warm and outgoing man who never met a stranger and seemed to know everyone. He had a generous spirit and a way of making people feel welcome. He also had a deep love for animals; a reflection of the kindness that marked his life and the way he related to the world around him.

He served in the Navy, and that service remained an important part of his life story. He worked as a truck driver, a role that suited his steady nature and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Scott found happiness in simple and meaningful pleasures. He enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening vegetables, and meeting up with his buddies for lunch, where he could catch up and enjoy the company of his friends.

Above all, Scott treasured his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Pam Spencer. He is also survived by his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Mike Peebles, Judy and Ed Willey, Gary and Crystal Haralson, Lisa (Terry) Beck, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Haralson. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Kristen Windel, John Windel, Kevin Peebles, Christopher (Lauren) Beck, Michael Beck, Eric (Heather) Haralson, Leslie Haralson, Tammy (Rusty) Haught, and Dustin (Trish) Haralson.

Scott’s life was defined by friendship, loyalty, hard work, and a genuine enjoyment of the people around him. He leaves behind many cherished memories for those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
