Sanford W. "Bill" Miller, Jr.

Sanford W. "Bill" Miller, Jr., 81, passed away July 27, 2025 with family by his side. Born in Boone, NC to Sanford and Eunice (Palmer) Miller, he resided in the Akron, Ohio area most of his life. Bill graduated from Hower High School and retired from Woodridge Local Schools after 28 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, camping, history, classic cars, Ohio State football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Carletta Miller. He will be sadly missed by his children, Ken (Sharon) Thompson, Kelli (Greg) Schott, Katie (Jon) Gerbetz; grandchildren, Dylan (Marie) Thompson, Geoffery (Emily) Schott, Brittany (Austin) McCune, Anais Gerbetz, Avery Gerbetz; great grandchildren, Parker, Luke, Aubrey, Huston, Caroline, Elyse.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sherman Bailey officiating. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
