Sandra Lee Johnson

Mrs. Sandra Kibler Johnson came into this world on December 21,1950. She was the second of three children born to Boylese Elias Kibler and Louise Crew Kibler (both deceased). She was called home on June 12, 2019. Her brother, Boylese Elias Kibler Jr, preceded her in death.

She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from John F. Kennedy High School. She met and married Henry Arthur Johnson. To this union five children were born: Andrea, Kelly, Ayeisha, Jamal, and Jermaine.

In addition to raising her children, she started her working life as ward secretary at University Hospitals. After moving to Stow, she became a real estate agent for Howard Hanna and followed that career for more than 25 years.

She became a Christian at an early age and attended the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Cleveland until the family moved to Stow, Ohio. She then became a faithful member of the Arlington Church of God in Akron, Ohio. She joined the Usher Board there and served as its president for many years, proudly representing them at conventions on both the State and National levels.

One of Sandra's greatest joys was traveling. She and Henry made many road trips and enjoyed many cruises together. They traveled across the continent as far east as Massachusetts and as far west as Washington State, and many other states, north and south, as well, including Hawaii.

She loved her family and friends very much. She was happy to help and care for her parents, her husband's grandmother, other relatives, and all those who needed her, with patience and faithfulness.

She was a gift to many.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of more than 51 years, Henry; her children: Andrea Johnson-Fricks, Kelly (Willbert) Hawkins, Ayeisha Johnson (Michael Harris - fiance), Jamal (Christy), and Jermaine (Julie); her grandchildren: Janee', DeMareo, Stanford, Isaiah, Maya, Keon, Averie, Reese, Lennox, and Elijah. Also included are her sister, Belvia Kibler Martin; her niece, Cassandra Howard-Edwards , her nephews, Neil Martin and John Martin, Reginald Johnson, Joseph Howard and Fredrick Howard; her cousins, Herman A. Evans, Rhuneta Brooks Epps, and Paul R. Brooks; her brothers-in-law Owen Johnson and Charles Amos; as well as a host of other relatives, church brothers and sisters; and many friends.

Her family and friends who are gathered here today, celebrate her life. We are glad we had the chance to share some time with her in this life. We love her and we will surely miss her.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with service immediately following, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Arlington Church of God, 539 S. Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306.
