Sandra “Sandy” Filomena (Taormina) of Munroe Falls passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Sandy’s life was centered around family, friendship, and the simple things that brought her joy. She was the proud mother of Michael Filomena (Carol) and Christopher Filomena (Jen), and beloved “Grandma Sandy” to Alexander, Julianna, and Chase. She taught her sons the value of hard work and, most importantly, treating others with kindness and decency—values she lived by every day.

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Peggy and Tony Taormina, who were the light of her life, and her brother, Tom Taormina. She is survived by Tom’s wife, Sue, and their children: Pam Testa (Todd), children Anthony and Dominic; Heather Nehlsen (Brian), children Hunter and Haley; and Jay Taormina, children Angela Taormina, Madeline Fotheringham, and Avery McClellan.

Sandy cherished her cousins Donna Karam (Mike), the late Pat Preston (Paul), and the late Linda Patterson (Larry), as well as her longtime friendship with Diane Thompson.

Sandy treasured her lifelong childhood friends known as “the Club”: Jean McBride, Joyce Bartell, Barbara Hickey, Penny Khoury, Nancy Montecalvo, Linda Porzio, and Jane Uber. Club members Susan Kareski and Chris Kondis preceded her in death.

Sandy loved dogs, playing cards with family and friends, flea markets and garage sales, and especially trips to Hartville for a meal at Hartville Kitchen and a walk through the flea market.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, family, and friendship. She will be remembered for the values she instilled in her sons, the joy she found in being Grandma Sandy, and the lifelong relationships she treasured. She will be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered.

A private service will be held for Sandy’s family, with a celebration of her life to follow at a later date.
