Sally Kohut

Sally Kohut, 72, of Akron, passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on September 3rd, 1953 the daughter of the late Harley and Margaret Case. Sally loved the outdoors especially working in the yard and attending her eclectic flower gardens. Sally was so very proud of her children, and being a military mom, uninterrupted from 1991-2019. Grandmommy loved spending time with her grandchildren as often as she could. Sally had many accomplishments, but her greatest was her love for her family. She will always be remembered for her strength, her deep love for family, her sense of humor, her sarcasm and her infectious smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mary Ann Lengi, Margaret Ball, Martha Hicks, Dave Case, Chuck Case, and Frank Case.

Sally is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 54 years, Dan Kohut; children Danny (Dana) Kohut, Dusty Kohut, and David (Star) Kohut; beloved grandchildren Devin, Shawn, Kane, and Haylee; brother Joe Case; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron)

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
