Ruth Ann Hanratta

Ruth Ann Hanratta, age 94, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1931 to the late Joseph and Monica Kunsaitis.

Ruth had worked at several local newspapers over the years. She spent her early years cheering her boys on in little league. Her home became the “go to” place for the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed working outside in her yard and was known to bring home many stray animals over the years. Ruth was an avid story teller, but her favorite was when Kenny Rogers and his band came to her home for lunch. She would tell that story as if it happened yesterday.

Ruth is survived by her loving sons, Patrick (Maryanne) of Mogadore, Ohio, Michael (Kyong) of Cibolo, Texas, and Terence (Wendy) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

She was the loving grandmother to Donald, Larry, Hanme, Terence (Christeena), Courtney, Robert (Hannah), Katrina (Dakota), Kathleen, Justin (Ariel), James and Kristina; great-grandmother to Paisley, Parker, Coraline, Aurora and Melody; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a devoted wife to her husband, Donald, for 43 years until his passing in 2002.

Private services will be held at a later date.
