Ruth Bair, age 92, of Akron, was reunited with her loving husband and family on Wednesday December 24, 2025. This is how Ruth wrote her obituary:
On March 31, 1933 I came into this world and on December 24, 2025 left to enter another phase. I will meet up with my parents, Herman and Rhoda Gabel, my husband Alfred (Bud) Bair and my brothers and sisters and their spouses who have entered this phase already. Also my three furry guys who made me go out for a walk everyday, Mikie, Sammy, and Dudley. I am survived by my sister, Margaret Gabel and 16 nieces and nephews and their spouses; and many great-nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Kathy and Ray Weisel and their family, Mike and Jennifer Mercer and their family, (Hunter and Mackenzie, my two movie and Mickey D pals), Mary and Joe Davis and family, Karen MacBride, Herman and Laura Gabel and family. Thank you for letting me be a part of your families. Also a special thanks to Jan Richards. I have enjoyed the fun and good times as well as the sad times with all.
I graduated from North High, attended a business college and started working for the Roadway Express Organization in 1953, and retired in 1996. I enjoyed my working career and coworkers, and also enjoyed retirement. Loved working crossword puzzles, traveling, and eating out. Also, I enjoyed walking my three furry guys, met a lot of nice and friendly people along those walks.
I have had a full and very good life, and enjoyed being with family and friends, the greatest people whom I dearly love.
The Afterglow-
I would like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of which happy memories that I love, when life is done,....
Visitation will be January 3rd, Saturday 11 AM- 1PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. A short service will begin at 1 PM.
