Ruby Burkhimer

Ruby Burkhimer, 95, of Akron, passed away on April 13, 2026 at Summa Barberton Citizens Hospital.

She was born on August 17, 1930 to Saulie and Myrrer (Marks) Kyer at Bear Fork, WV.

Ruby worked as a housewife and owned JR's Lounge.

In 1979 , she married Elmer E. Burkhimer, Jr. Ruby and Elmer lived in Akron, Ohio.

Ruby had 6 children born to a previous marriage.

Ruby always enjoyed family get together's, especially Christmas Eve at her home.

Ruby is survived by her loving Husband, Elmer; children, Mary Flohr, Lynn (Roger) Kline, Betty (Ray) Hartung, Barbara Baker, James Mason, and Lon (Cathy) Mason; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grand children; 11 great-great grandchildren; sister, Julie Fields; and brothers, Grant Kyer, Russell Kyer, and Alvin Kyer .

She was preceded in death by her Father, Saulie Kyer; Mother, Myrrer Kyer (Marks); brothers, Denver Kyer, Stanley Kyer, Arden Kyer, Arthur Kyer, Arnold Kyer, Calvin Kyer, and Virgil Kyer; sisters, Bertha Kyer, Earsley Richards, Iva Johnson, Louise White, and Pearl Blake; and sons-in-law, Paul (Mick) Flohr and Dennis Baker.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 20, 2026, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Akron, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 12:00 pm at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Akron, Ohio, with Jim Luonuansuu officiating.
