Listen to Obituary

It is with deep love and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Rosemary E. Steele, who left this world peacefully on Thursday January 1, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on December 24, 1947, in Ravenna, Ohio, Rosemary lived a life that was a testament to kindness, generosity, and love.

Rosemary was not only a devoted family member but also a faithful servant of God. As a founding member of the Faith Bible Fellowship, she dedicated much of her life to her faith, providing support and inspiration to those around her. Her unwavering commitment to her church community mirrored the warmth she brought into every aspect of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy filled with love, felt deeply by her children, Jason (Jess) Steele and Danielle Goins. Her spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of her treasured grandchildren: Sienna, Gage (Hailey), Devin (Ariana), Blaze (Ellie), Meea, and Simone, as well as her great-grandchildren, Aurora, D'Ayre, K'Lonni, Lai'Lonni, Ezra, and Tru. Each of them carries a piece of her infectious joy and nurturing spirit.

Rosemary was the beloved sister of Linda Way and held a special place in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. She was lovingly called Bica by her family, a title that encapsulated her role as the glue holding them all together. Her loving nature ensured that every gathering was filled with laughter, warmth, and delicious food, as she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. In quieter moments, she found solace in crossword puzzles and other puzzles, reflections of her sharp mind and patience.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her cherished parents, Clarence and Mary McMann, her sisters Shirley Sarka, Betty Swigart, Sandy Smith, and Patricia Mitchell, and her brother Robert McMann. Though they are no longer here in body, their memories will forever be honored by those she left behind.

Family and friends are invited to witness the love and honor for Rosemary during visitation on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow on the same day, beginning at 11:00 AM. Final resting place is Standing Rock Cemetery.

Rosemary E. Steele's presence was a gift to all who knew her. She showed through her life what it means to truly love unconditionally, and her memory will forever shine brightly in the lives of her loved ones.
