Rosalie A. Glidewell

Rosalie A. Glidewell (McPeak), 83, went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2025. She was born in Ravenna to the late Amos McPeak and Ruth McPeak (Whitaker) on February 5, 1942. She was a 1961 graduate from Ravenna and retired from General Electric.

Rosie loved spending time with her family, working in her flower beds "pulling weeds", listening to country music, and playing Canasta. She also loved listening to bands and line dancing. Her family will miss her famous mayonnaise cake at special gatherings.

Rosie was always there to help anyone in need and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her former husband, James Glidewell; daughter, Tami Sommers; brothers, Eugene and Thomas McPeak; and son-in-law, Ronald Cain.

Rosie is survived by her daughter Robin Cain and her significant other, Mike Oaks; grandchildren, Rhonda (Jeff) Gates, Renee (Bob) Hemel, Laura McLean Sommers, and John Sommers; brothers, Allen (Pat), Amos Jr., Robert, and Earl McPeak; sister, Mary (Don) Gorby; seven great-grandkids and several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Special thanks to her wonderful neighbors who always watched over her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. followed by a 1:30 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Scott Hindel officiating at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Edinburg Cemetery.
