Rosalia E. Duran, 81, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Sonora, Mexico to Abel and Esperanza (Lavandera) Encinas, she resided in the Akron, Ohio area for the past 33 years. Rosalia was also known as Challo, Challito, Chalia and Nana. She was a longtime member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Rosalia enjoyed talking to her friends, cooking, taking care of children, watching Novelas, listening to Mariachi, singing and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Rosalia was preceded in death by granddaughter, Rosario; siblings, Loreto, Ramon; cousin, Ramona; sister-in-law, Rita. She will be remembered by her children, Esperanza, Gilberto; grandchildren, James, Jose, Susanne, Taron, Ricardo; great grandchildren, Jose Jr., Angelina, Lilliana; brother, Jose; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Those who wish, may make memorial donations in Rosalia's name to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
