Ronald W. Place

Ronald W. Place, 79, passed away December 4, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio to George and Alice (Balthis) Place, he was a lifelong area resident. Ron was a proud member of the U. S. Army and he retired from working as a machinist for many years. He had a sweet tooth and always enjoyed watching movies, and spending time with his family and his dog, Porky.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Place. He will be sadly missed by his children, Matt (Jenny) Place, Diane (David Jr) Gurley; grandchildren, Veronica Place, Matthew Place Jr, Jimmy (Jade) Mick, Jonathon Drake; great grandchildren, Greysyn, Kaelin, Kelhani, Azlyn; brothers, Richard Place, Alan (Lisa) Place; former spouse, Janet Balthis; many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of Ron's life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Ron's name to the Wounded Warrior's Project or to the family.
