Ronald Michael Croghan

Ronald Michael Croghan, 82, of Akron, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Saturday, July 25, 2026. A lifelong resident of Akron, Ron was born on November 14, 1943 to the late Marion and Carieta {Hicks} Croghan.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Hastings, brother Richard Croghan, mother-in-law Nancy Delbove and father-in-law James Holmgren.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Terri; children Traci (Greg) Cook, Shawn (Lori) Croghan and Daena Croghan; step-son Michael (Jenny) and Derek (Collene) Keirns; grandchildren Britney (Justin), Lauren, Gillian (Robert), Devon, Brayden, Griffin, Lilia, Neo, Ty (Sam), Carter, Cooper, Ashley (Ryan), Megan and Logan; great-grandchildren Gabe, Lana, Mari, Mav and Bo; brother Joe Gardner.

Ron truly loved his family, and his other love was art. He found peace in the outdoors, and could often be found riding his motorcycle, kayaking, camping and hiking. Ron loved traveling and seeing the world, though his heart stayed rooted in Akron, having grown up in North Hill. His proudest title was Poppie, the beloved nickname his grandkids and great-grandkids gave to him.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Deaf Outreach Church, 2200 Greensburg Rd. Green, OH 44720 on Saturday, August 1st from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service that begins at 12:00 p.m. with Pastors Darwin Smith and Kevin Smith officiating.
