Roger E. Hinton

Roger E. Hinton, 88, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2026. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Guy and Elizabeth (Franks) Hinton, he was a lifelong area resident. Roger was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, where he was a master chemical technician, with 43 years of service. Known for having the ability to "fix" things, Roger enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandkids, watching the news, working in the yard, visiting with the neighbors in his garage, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hinton; sister, Nancy Williams. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Karen Andexler, Lori (Cam) Davis; step-children, Randy, (Judy) Fearer, Sheree (Phil) Smith, Ron (Erin) Fearer; grandchildren; Ryan (Kellie), Josh (Monica), Cassidy (Chase), Tashia (Peter), Shaelynn (Taylor); great grandsons, Joshua, Hunter, Lorenzo.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, July 20, 2026 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
