Robert W. Stachowiak, Sr.
Robert W. Stachowiak, Sr., age 84, went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born on January 14, 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late William and Agnes Stachowiak. Bob retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 38 years as a chemical engineer. During his career, he specialized in solution polymers and was named on several patents. He was a patent attorney and a member of the Ohio Bar Association. Bob was a member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as a church moderator and ministered to the church as legal counsel. He coached Green Youth baseball and loved bowling. He was an avid golfer and had two holes in one to his credit. He was a faithful fan of all Cleveland sports. Bob served on the Green Board of Zoning Appeals for many years. He was devoted to family and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; brother, Edward; and nephew, Donald. He is survived by his children, William (Julie) Stachowiak, Susan (John) Voholetz, Robert (Jennifer) Stachowiak, Jr., Barbara (Gregory) Reagan, and Judith Stachowiak; grandchildren, Niki, Rebecca (Shane), Ryan, Jessica, Heather, John, Holly (Jim), James, Robert III, and Patrick; great-granddaughter, Kenna and one great-grandchild on the way; niece, Carol; other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call on Friday, May 9 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, 1767 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, OH 44305.
Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions in Bob's honor are requested to the church.
