Robert Spicer

Robert O. Spicer transitioned into his heavenly home on October 2, 2015. Born Dec. 17, 1929, he was happily married to Shirley for 61 years. He served in the US Army, and retired from Roadway Express General Office after working 34 years. He was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ since 1961, and served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Elder and Vice President of the Congregation. Bob enjoyed wood working, painting , and loved his children, grand children and great grand child.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Thelma, brother Roy and his daughter Cheryl. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley; son, Ric (Sarah); sister, Norma; 8 grand children, 1 great grand child and a host of friends and family that will miss him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Emmanuel United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 Eastwood Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44305.
