Robert "Bob" J. Mulhollen Sr., 68, of Akron passed away on July 26, 2024. He was born in Akron on May 9, 1956, to the late Bob and Barbara Mulhollen. Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1975 as a hull technician. He was an avid swimmer and with his time with the Kent State swim team he trained with Mark Spitz the Olympic gold medalist. Bob drove truck cross country for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, tractor pulls and auto racing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his son Rob (Brianna) Mulhollen; daughter Jessica Murphy; grandchildren Isabella, Mason, and Aubrey; brother Kenneth (Beth) Mulhollen; sister JoAnn (Mark) Zendek; step-mother Ruth Mulhollen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who knew him better as "Bobby Joe."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Mulhollen, and his brother Curtis Mulhollen.
Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home with a Memorial service starting at 6:00 PM. Graveside service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Thursday, August 8, 2024 promptly at 10:15 AM
