Robert L. Cumpston
Robert L. Cumpston, 86, of Akron, passed away March 9, 2014 at his home. He was born on April 19, 1927 in Jackson County, West Virginia to the late Blair and Myrtle Cumpston. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Akzo Salt where he worked as a boiler operator. Bob was an avid gardener in his free time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie and sisters, Sandy and Martha.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathleen; children, Sally (Butch) Shannon, Frank (Debra) Cumpston, Robert (Brenda) Cumpston II, Wendy Cumpston, and Treassa Cumpston; siblings, Debra Gump, Fred (Diane) Compston, Ed (Jan) Compston, Ricky (Marlene) Compston, and Steven Compston; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Allenside Presbyterian Church, 410 Rexford St., Akron 44314.
