Robert J. Bowen, 79, passed away quietly in his own home on Monday, December 28, 2015. Robert was born on June 7, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to Joseph and Pauline Bowen. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 18 years. He worked at Uniwear as a truck driver/supervisor for many years where he met his beautiful and loving wife Betty.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Betty Bowen;parents Joseph (Pauline) Bowen; brothers,Bill Bowen and Jerry Bowen; step-sons, Carl Thompson; step- daughter,Dorthy Stansell; and his dogs ,Jack, Buddy, Bubba
He is survived by his children, Michelle Bowen, Dale Bowen, Ray Bowen, Mike (Tracey) Bowen, Joe (Linda) Bowen, Mike (Katie)Thompson, Linda (Gordon) Lydick, Eric Thompson; brother, Jimmy (Diane) Bowen of California, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews,friends and his dog Roman who will miss Bob dearly.
The family would like to thank Lisa and Meg of Hospice Palliative Care for taking care of Bob.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date .
