Robert "Bob" J. Hengeli

Robert J. Hengeli, 96, of Tallmadge, passed away on October 16, 2026. Bob retired from BF Goodrich. Over the years, he also worked part-time as a special deputy for Summit County, as security for First National Bank, and at Ganley Toyota. He was also a lieutenant auxiliary police officer for Tallmadge.

Bob enjoyed working with stained glass and spending time fishing and hunting.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ethel Hengeli; son, Bary Hengeli; and brother, Ronald Hengeli.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Hengeli and Gary Hengeli; sister, Roberta Knox; grandchildren, Shawn, Robin, Jessica, and Janine; special friend, Patty Barnhouse; sister-in-law, Marlene Hengeli; and many nieces and nephews.

Per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date.
