Robert G. Swope, 85, of Mogadore, passed away July 5, 2014. He was born in Akron on July 29, 1928 to the late Ernest and Thelma Swope.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a bus driver for Springfield Schools and owned B&B Television for many years. Bob was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and a former member of the Uniontown Lions Club. In his free time he could be found golfing, traveling and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah J. "Billie"; and sister, Nola. He will be deeply missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Tammy; daughters, Linda and Pam; brother, Norm; sister, Marcia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 12:30-1:30 followed by a 1:30 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
