Robert E. "Bob" Oller, 90, went home to be with the Lord and meet his wife, Carolyn, on October 8, 2014.
Bob served in WWII with the US Army and Air Force. He retired from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission after 25 years of service. Bob enjoyed fishing, photography, writing about his family in his memoirs, the poetry of Longfellow, Hemmingway, and Frost. He had a large collection of instrumental classical music. Bob and his wife Carolyn always worked their hardest to provide a loving and stable home for their beloved children.
In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jessica and Jacob; and several siblings.
Survivors include sons, Lance (Joyce), Mark, James, and John; daughters, Roberta Riggs, Jean (Randal) Rucker, and Sarah (Rob) Cowie; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Maude Elrich. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, 4 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
