Robert L. Drummond Sr.

Robert L. Drummond Sr. "Bob", age 79, of Akron, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, August 14, 2026. Born in Fairmont, West Virginia to Delbert J. Drummond and Gerldine Drummond (Sapp) on December 10, 1946. He lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio, where he found the love of his life, Marilyn Caldwell. They married in August 1969 and just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Bob was a proud veteran of the Marine Corp. and served in the Vietnam War. He found deep joy and meaning serving at his son's church, Albrecht Avenue Church of God, where he was known for his willingness to help in any way. Bob's servant heart and steady hands comforted many, and his life touched countless people in ways that will never be forgotten.

Bob was also the proud grandfather of Caleb Drummond, whom he cherished and supported, exemplifying to him the importance of giving of oneself in service to others.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Shephard, Katherine Few, and Shirley Shumway.

He will be deeply missed by wife Marilyn, son Pastor Bob Drummond (Lisa), grandson Caleb Drummond (Lindsey Chafe), and special fur-baby, his dog, Hollie.

As Bob's loved ones mourn his loss, they also rejoice in timeless and treasured memories, knowing that he has received his eternal reward in Heaven.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Albrecht Church of God, 3357 Albrecht Avenue, Akron with Pastor Bob Drummond officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00 - 1:00PM at the church prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. A private burial will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
