Robert D. "Bob" Bergdorf, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014. He was born June 28, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to the late Reynold and Pauline Bergdorf. Bob retired from the City of Akron after 30 years of service and was a member of the Tadmor Shriners as well as a 32nd Degree Mason with Joppa Lodge 666. He was a very generous man who always enjoyed hosting family, friends and his caregivers.
Bob is survived by his son Scot (Tina) Bergdorf, 6 grandchildren; Scot (Courtney) Bergdorf, Robert Bergdorf, Amanda Scheck, Timothy Scheck, Shannon Bergdorf and Nicholas Gourley, 9 great grandchildren; Jayden, Lyric, Landen, Preston, Robby, Adisyn, Grace, Riley and Dakota. He was preceded in death by his wife Madeline Bergdorf, parents, brothers and sister.
Friends and family may call 2-5 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
