Robert Calvin Banks Sr., age 70 departed from us on May 18, 2016. He was born August 20, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH. Calvin worked at the Babcocks and Wilcox Company in Barberton, OH for 30 years.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Melvin Sr. and Lillie Banks, his son Robert C. Banks Jr., and his sister Charlotta 'Dutch' Banks.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Barbara of 50 years, their two children Kevin Banks and Katherine 'Cotton' (Luther III) Bernard, two brothers Melvin Jr. (Joyce) Banks and Alvin 'Butch' Banks, his sisters Barbara Hales and Dorothy Richards along with his special daughter Kimberly Betts, six grandchildren, one great-grandson and two god daughters. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Mount Peace Cemetery, 183 Aqueduct St., Akron, OH 44303
To celebrate his Home Going a Repass will be held at the Lawton St. Community Center,1225 Lawton St.,
Akron, OH 44320.
Condolences may be sent to Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305.
