Richard Lee Schiffbauer Sr. "Rick"

Richard Lee Schiffbauer Sr. "Rick", age 61, of Akron passed away peacefully at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center on Thursday, September 10, 2026. A lifelong resident of Akron, Rick was born on September 18, 1964 to Shirley and the late Charles Schiffbauer.

In addition to his father, Rick was preceded in death by his son Dustin, brother Daniel, sister Roxanne, and mother-in-law Delores.

Rick's memory will always be cherished by his beloved wife Dawnetta {Dobosh} Shiffbauer; children Ricky (Olivia) Schiffbauer, Todd Gibson and Jenny (Johnny) Hackathorn; grandchildren Jaidyn, Gemma, Raelyn, Lilly, Makenna, Kaidyn, Roman, Bowden; siblings Candy (Mike), Chuck (Jane), Debbie, Walt and Shirley (Steve); many extended family members and friends, including best friend Gary Stubblefield, favorite cousin Brenda Serva and favorite uncle Chuck Dick.

Rick loved to be outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed cruising the open road in his Mustang, one of his proudest accomplishments.

"Papaw" was his favorite title, and he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandbabies.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, September 15th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., when the funeral service will begin with Pastor Johnny Serva officiating.
