Richard A. Peters, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born on January 17, 1929 in Grandview OH to Howard and Sonoma Peters. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, golfing and wood working. His most pleasurable moments were spending time with his wife and taking care of his family.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary E. Peters; infant daughter; sister, Joy and his parents.
He is survived by his children Rick (Cindy), Faith (Robert) Ortega; siblings, Bob (Patti), Nancy (Norman), Jeff (Barby); grandchildren, Rick, Joe, Matthew, Joshua, Rachel, Hannah; great grandchildren, Sophie, Levi, Asher, Elijah, Phillip, Makennah, Joey.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd. Akron, OH. Pastor Brenda Young officiating .
Internment will take place at Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery.
