Richard Burnett Huskey, Jr.

Richard Burnett Huskey, Jr., known to family and friends as "Dick", was born on July 26, 1942 and passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2026.

Dick was born and raised in Akron, graduating from Central High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. His honorable service included work at the Pentagon and deployment to Korea.

Upon returning to Akron, Dick worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 17 years. He retired from the City of Akron after 20 years of employment in the water treatment plant.

A natural athlete, Dick enjoyed playing softball and golfing.

He was a hard worker and enjoyed a simple life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Florence Huskey Sr.; brothers, Jerry Huskey and Tom Huskey; and grandson, Alex.

Dick is survived by his children, Richard "Ric" Huskey and Debbie "Debi" Boden; brother, Bob (Kim) Huskey; grandchildren, Jordan, Cheyenne, Austin, and Derrick; and great-grandchildren, Audrey, Khloe, and Teddy.

Per Dick's wishes, he will be laid to rest privately at Hillside Memorial Park.
