Richard "Dick" F. Ispan

Richard "Dick" F. Ispan, 79, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on May 2, 2026. He was born on January 30, 1947 the son of the late Frank and Mildred Ispan. Dick graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School with the class of 1963. He retired from the City of Cuyahoga Falls Electric System after 30 years of dedicated service. He then went on to work for a period of time at the City of Cuyahoga Falls Grounds Maintenance and Blossom Music Center where he fully retired in 2013.

He was a lifelong enthusiast of fishing and an avid Cleveland Browns fan. His unwavering support for the team exemplified his spirited nature and he always enjoyed a spirited conversation especially concerning the Pittsburg Steelers. Dick also held a special place in his heart for his 1987 Ford 150 Truck. He delighted in taking his truck to various car shows, where he shared stories, and admired other vehicles. Dick and Sherry always enjoyed their time flying kites at Edgewater Park. He never failed to brighten up a room with his sense of humor, infectious smile and laughter. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary Ispan; and his fur baby Puddles.

Dick is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 47 years, Sherry Ispan; brothers Bob (Diane) Ispan and Tom (Joanne) Ispan; his bond with Katie Gross, whom he cherished deeply and regarded like a daughter; and his beloved fur baby LaceyGrace; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Tuesday, May 12th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 6:00pm with Ed White officiating.
