Richard A. Smith, 63, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Kent, Ohio. Rick was born on March 5, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to Richard L. Smith and Donna I. Smith. Rick was an accomplished upholsterer having over 40 years in the business.
Rick is preceded in death by his father Richard L. Smith.
He is survived by wife of 17 years, Tracie; mother, Donna I Smith; brother, Jimmie; brother, Bill (Debra) Smith; sister, Mary Kay (Jack) Skinner; sister, Vickie Baxter and Mike; step sons Brent and Brad; Rick will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will follow. Donations may be made in Rick's honor to any Cancer Society.
