Reta Sherry Hurley, 77, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2026 surrounded by family. Born in Albany, KY to James and Gladys (Smith) Hurst, she resided in the Akron area all of her adult life. In her earlier days, Sherry was proud to be a Girl Scout leader as well as a softball coach for her daughters. She spent many years as an antique dealer and had a passion for jewelry and textiles. She traveled to antique shows in many cities and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. Sherry loved her cats and enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers (once winning the Akron beautification award) and spending time with her friends and family, cherishing her "girls" above all else.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by many siblings including Larry Hurst and Patricia Hurst Everly. She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl (Michael) Eberhart and Stacey Hurley; granddaughters, Taylor Hurley, Carley (Zac) Hagy and Landry Clark; brother, Freeman Padgett; many nieces, nephews and friends.
