Raymond Albert Simmons
Raymond Albert Simmons, born August 6, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to Raymond and Norma Simmons, passed away August 30, 2014 at Akron City Hospital. Surviving is his brother, Dale Simmons of Munroe Falls, whom Raymond dearly loved and bragged about; special friend, Paula Balzer; and a daughter in Akron, Ohio.
Raymond was a believer in Christ and had read the whole Bible twice. He attended The Chapel and in his younger years was active in their singles group. Raymond enjoyed animals, sports, hiking, playing class D baseball, talking about the past, and he was a champion shopper. He was the best in music and old movie trivia. Raymond was a proud man who always dressed his way. He was known for his hats, sharp clothing and jewelry.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Stow Glen for all their loving care for the last five years, Dr. Kenneth Berkovitz, an amazing and caring heart surgeon, and Akron City Hospital CCU Unit.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes contributions be given to: Grace Chapel Church, 1060 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rte 619), Akron, Ohio 44312. Cremation has taken place. Close friends and family are invited to a celebration of Raymond's life at Grace Chapel Church on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.
