Ralph Branca Sr
Ralph Branca Sr. went to be with God on Sunday, February 8th, 2015. He was born on June 27, 1925 in Brier Hill, PA to the late Dominic and Angeline Branca. He was a proud WWII Navy Veteran, and later retired from Kenmore Construction after over 25 years of service. He coached a CYO baseball team for over ten years, and he played and coached softball for the Silver League. He was a life long Yankees fan and loved to support his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary of 55 years; and siblings Sam, Albert, Mary, Annie, Carmella, and Madeline. He will be deeply missed by his children Ralph Branca Jr., Maria Edwards (Jeff Green), and Daryl (Jodi) Branca; grandchildren Margaret Cole, Sam Branca, Debbie (Dr. Terry) Soldo, Angela (Eric) Pollerine, Taylor Branca, Nicholas Branca; and 7 great grandchildren. Ralph also leaves behind numerous family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday February 12, 2015 from 5 - 8 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME 131 N Canton Rd, Akron. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Church at 10 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
