RACHEL (HENSLEY) CARRINGTON
Rachel Carrington, 86, of Akron, passed away on April 25, 2013 at Akron City Hospital. She was born on February 20, 1927 to Elijah and Polly (Hammons) Hensley in Logan, WV. Rachel retired from GE Lamp Plant in Ravenna. She married Leslie James Carrington in 1945 and enjoyed over 50 years of love and devotion. She was a member of Albrecht Avenue Church of God and loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Rachel is survived by her Daughter, Deanna Kay (Gerald) Pringle of Hartville, OH, Daughter, Virginia "Ginny" L. (Joel "Todd") Bittner of Akron, OH, Son, Glenn E. Carrington, Son, Larry A. (Linda) Carrington of Hartville, OH, Son, James C. (Nancy) Carrington of Akron, OH, Daughter, Leslie A. (Jeff) Kalail of Canton, OH, Daughter, Polly J. (Gene) Petty of Akron, OH, Daughter, Tammy L. (Joe) Miller of Akron, OH, Daughter, Annette L. Knight of Akron, OH, Sister, Minnie Mosier, Sister, Ida Mae Miller, Grandchildren, Ray, Tracy, Kathy, Mary, Keith, Lora, Stephanie, Brian, William, Sara, Robert, April, Tammy, Amanda, Jay, Tricia, Bobby, Mike, Jonathan, Courtney, Cody, Chrystal, Nicole, Shannon, Angie, Samantha, Melissa, and Tamra; and many many Great Grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 29, 2013, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert L. Drummond, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, following the service, to Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown.
Memorials are suggested to Albrecht Avenue Church of God.
