R. Karen Wagner, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2025, in Brimfield, Ohio, at age of 77. Born on April 20, 1948, in Charleston, West Virginia, Karen, had an intentional life an infectious smile and a heart full of love.
For decades, Karen found great joy in her career as a hairdresser, where she channeled her artistic talents into owning her own successful salon in Tallmadge. Her passion for beauty was evident not just in her work but in how she cared for her clients, treating each one like family and always bringing warmth and kindness to their visits.
A woman who loved deeply, Karen cherished her family above all. She was married for 47 wonderful years to her loving husband, John. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. She took immense pride in her son, Matthew (Carly) Stewart and step-daughter, Emily (Alex) Mogen. As a grandmother, Karen delighted in the company of her three grandchildren, Gavin and Isabel Stewart and Abigail Mogen, showering them with affection while creating delightful moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.
Beyond her family, Karen's warm spirit extended to her many brothers—Rodney (Paula), Steven (Mary), Allen, and Michael (Laura) Williams—and to her half-sister, Sharen Franklin. She shared countless joyful holidays and celebrations with her step-sisters, Gina Holcomb and Suzanne Hersek, expanding her familial love to include many nieces, nephews, and friends who admired and respected her deeply.
Karen possessed a vibrant personality marked by her devotion to Jesus, her love for entertaining, and her love for travel. Many cherished memories revolve around her adventures in Florida during the winter months. Her spirit shone brightest when she was in the company of loved ones, always bringing joy into every gathering.
Though Karen is predeceased by her father, Densel Williams; her step-mother, June Williams; her mother, Doris Williams Hersek; and her step-father, Paul Hersek, her legacy of love, laughter, and light will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
As we celebrate the life of Karen Wagner, we remember her as a devoted family woman and an inspiring friend. The love she shared, the joy she spread, and the spirit she embodied will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
