Phyllis L. Leonard went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2015. She was born in Parsons, WV to the late Earl and Edith Loughry. She was an active member of The Chapel where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 20 years, and also served in other areas of ministry. Phyllis was famous for her peanut butter candy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Howard; and sisters, Jeanette and Loraine. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Michele Lemons, Loretta Nash, Becky (Tom) Moyer, and Howard (Holly) Leonard; grandchildren, Crystal, Dustin, Micah, Matthew, Elisa, and Ella; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Bernadean) and Roger Loughry; special cousin, Stanny; and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Bath Manor and the nurses of Summa Western Reserve Hospital. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11am where family will receive friends at 10am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305.
