Phyllis Mae Lanari

Phyllis Mae Lanari passed away on October 26, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on February 3, 1928, Phyllis lived a long life marked by enjoyment of simple pleasures, devotion to family, and a warm spirit that found joy in the company of others.

Phyllis loved shopping and took special pleasure in dancing and listening to live bands. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cards, pastimes that reflected her social nature and her love of fun and fellowship. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, and that time together became one of the defining blessings of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Tabaka and her husband, John; her son, John Lanari and his wife, Rusti; her sister, Patty Walters; and her grandchildren, Alissa Zimmerman and her husband, Dave, Selena Landolt and her husband, Mike, Reed Lanari, Cori Adams, and Morgan Huth and her husband, Brian. She will be remembered with love by her family, who carry forward the memories of her presence, her interests, and the many moments they shared together.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Aroldo “La” Lanari; her son, Kenny Swiger; her father, John Litz; her mother, Lourella Carrier; her sisters, Bonnie Buck, Ethel Hall, and Betty Ellis; and her brothers, Jack Litz, Bill Litz, and Leo Litz.

A graveside service will be held on October 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Standing Rock Cemetery, 1361 North Mantua Street, Kent, Ohio 44240.

Phyllis Mae Lanari will be remembered with affection for the happiness she found in music, games, family gatherings, and the everyday moments that brought people together. Her life leaves behind cherished memories in all who knew and loved her.
