Peter Francis Loyd passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of 84 vibrant years lived unparalleled with fun and style.

Born in Prague on May 2, 1942 to Olga and Paul Loyd. Peter came to the United States at the young age of seven. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended schools in Cleveland. He graduated from Fenn College with a double major.Peter‘s life was anchored by a beautiful lifelong romance with Suzanne Morscher Loyd. They started dating while working at Pick n Pay during their high school years. The high school sweethearts went on to share a remarkable 62 years of marriage.

Peter was a driven and highly successful businessman. He finally retired at the age of 82. True to his energetic nature, he actually attempted retirement several times prior, always concluding that a quiet life was not for him, a revelation that surprised absolutely no one who knew him.
Peter was famously the life of every single party he entered. He always arrived, immaculately, brilliantly, dressed for the occasion drawing from a closet that was legendary for its colors. He had a deep appreciation for a eclectic art and a profound passion for seeing the world. His Global adventures took him far and wide, including walking the Great Wall of China, exploring the great barrier reef and his favorite drinking vodka in Russia.Yet for all his grand adventures and colorful flare Peter will most likely be remembered for his immense heart. He was an incredibly proud man, and he was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Peter had become a devoted volunteer at the local food pantry in Fort Myers. He helped run the distribution system and personally purchased a much-needed truck to help the center.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne Morscher Loyd, his daughter Pauline Lacy and her spouse Tom Docherty, his cherished grandchildren, Nicole(Michael), Maddie (Andy), Matthew (Ally), Nolan (Katie), and his great grandchild Beckett who made him smile.
Donations can be made in Peter’s honor to the Yost community Center, Lake Milton 1435 N. East River Rd., Lake Milton, OH 44429.
