July 22, 1959 — March 9, 2015

Paul R. Jacoway, age 55, of Akron passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 9, 2015. He was born July 22, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to the late Benjamin and Betty Jacoway. Paul graduated from Kenmore High School and went onto college at Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degrees in Journalism and then his Master from the University of Akron and his PHD from the Ohio University. Paul was a documentarian and taught filmmaking at the University of Akron for the past year. He earned an Emmy Award for his documentary; Final Edition: Journalism According to Jack and Jim Knight. His most recent work; A Tree Grows in Washington: The John Seiberling Story also aired on local PBS stations. Paul is survived by his sister, Margaret Jacoway and brother, Chuck (Mary) Jacoway and longtime companion and friend Jennifer Somerville. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5 to 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd Akron Ohio 44035 with a memorial service to follow at 7pm. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the Paul R. Jacoway Production, Inc. legacy fund.
