Paul Edward Maloney 67, passed away on May 11, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1948 to the late Walter and Grace Maloney. Paul was Maintenance Supervisor at the University of Akron, retiring in 2010. Paul never encountered a stranger, and was the most gregarious and big hearted guy you would want to meet. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Paul was a loving husband and father. To know him was to love him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lisa (Scholles) Maloney; son, Ryan; brothers in-law, Arden (Mary) Scholles and Barry (Michele "Mike") Scholles; niece, Amy Datsko; nephews, Ben, Michael and Jonathan Scholles; great-nephews, Andrew and Luke; great-nieces, Hannah, Elise, Madison and Sydney; the Sear family, Dick, Mike, Nancy, John, Ann and the late Jean Sear; and many many many friends. Paul will be loved and missed.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 14 from 4-7pm and funeral service will be held on Friday May 15 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton R. Akron, OH 44305.
