Patricia S. Kurlich

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Sue Kurlich, 58 years old, of Akron, Ohio, who left us on September 14, 2025.

Patricia, lovingly known as Patti, received her BA in dietetics from the University of Akron; Patti worked for Cornwell Tools for ten years and Laspina Tool and Die, Inc., for seven years. Patti was devoted to her husband, Dennis.

Patti was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Beatrice Sponseller. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Small of Akron, OH; her father, Richard Kurlich (wife, Urte) of Avon, OH; sister, Teresa of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Richard Kurlich (wife, Diane) of Kent, OH, Michael Kurlich (wife, Jackie) of Noblesville, IN, and Jeff Kurlich (wife, Beth) of Westfield, IN; and stepbrother, Marc Wenzel (wife, Diane) of Vancouver.

Patti’s love and warmth will be deeply missed by two aunts, an uncle, nieces and nephews, her four stepchildren, and her numerous step-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305) from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, followed by a Celebration of Patti’s Life from 11:30 AM until noon.

Patti touched many lives with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in Patti’s name to the Humane Society of Summit County.
